Make Believe Arts had a wonderful mission and a proven methodology—what they needed was a digital home that did it justice. With four programmes serving thousands of practitioners across the UK, the challenge was bringing everything together without losing the warmth of the work. Every child deserves to find their voice—and Make Believe Arts had the tools and passion to make that happen. The platform needed to speak to early years practitioners, school leaders and donors alike, keeping the child's experience at the heart of every page.
Make Believe Arts knew instinctively that childhood is not a rehearsal. The design celebrates wonder and imagination whilst communicating serious impact—giving practitioners confidence to invest in training and donors the conviction to give. Every story heard, every poem performed, every narrative acted out builds language, empathy and belonging. Friendly, accessible language and authentic imagery work together to turn belief into action—because when people truly understand what's at stake, they want to be part of something brilliant.
The results speak for themselves—7,000+ practitioners trained, 150,000+ children performing poems, and Helicopter Stories embedded in thousands of classrooms across the UK. New programmes like Story Steps reached 1,000 children within weeks of launch—the appetite for story-rich practice is growing beautifully. Make Believe Arts isn't just delivering programmes—it's building a movement. Every practitioner trained becomes a champion for children's voices in their community, turning good intentions into real, lasting change for the children who need it most.
